Regional premiere intervention

Recently, professor Teodor Stamate, the chief of The Clinical Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Hospital of Clinical Urgency Iasi has realized an operation of rhinoplasty in regional premiere. The intervention was performed on twenty one year old woman from Iasi, that suffered from a rare congenital malformation, known under the name of "bifid nose".

The disease that Alina L was born with,is rarely seen and it consist in the deformation of the bones and the nasal cartilage,that led to an aspect change, making a flat nose. The operation consisted in the shaping of a bone graft,this having the role of assisting the nasal lobe. "The bone grafting, the most important part, took five hours, with the patient on the surgical table. The operation was a success and the evolution of the patient is perfect" says professor Stamate. The doctors said that the young woman wanted to have this operation for a long time now, but it can done only if the process of body growth is final. The specialists say that they made a series of investigations before the operation "Today the patient declared to be very pleased with her appearance" said professor Stamate.
